Retaill Crime Alert System
CLICK HERE to sign up for the Retail Crime Alert System.
Retail Crime Alert System was created and developed by Retail Alliance to keep members abreast of local crime situations which occur throughout Hampton Roads. The initiation of this service originated out of the Retail Alliance Loss Prevention Task Force. The Task Force is made up of local retail members, law enforcement officers and security company partners. The Task Force meets monthly to network, educate and discuss services that will help reduce shrinkage.
The alert system transmits information to businesses and security professionals regarding crimes that might affect them such as fraudulent checks, credit cards, counterfeit money, bank robberies, forgeries, shoplifting rings, carjacking, terrorist threats and other community situations.
Hampton Roads law enforcement officials supply the information. Law enforcement and public safety officials post alerts, which are sent immediately to all subscribers via email, text messaging (subject to provider costs) or both. This service is FREE for all Retail Alliance members. Retail Alliance considers the Retail Crime Alert System a community awareness program that provides a crime prevention service to its members.
Members can register their contacts to receive system alerts through either text messaging, email or both. Multiple employees may be registered to receive these alerts. Each user may elect to receive alerts for the Southside and Peninsula regions.
